The Process
A commissioned piece is created especially for you, a custom cyanotype on paper or textile that reflects your vision and creates a sense of wonder and connection to nature.
01: Vision & Planning
Every commission begins with your inspiration, whether it’s a mood, a memory, or a particular plant that speaks to you. Through a collaborative conversation, I help translate your ideas into a clear vision. Together, we uncover the story and intention behind the piece, shaping a concept that will guide the creation of a cyanotype uniquely yours.
02: Artistic Creation
With care and intention, I collect botanical elements from my garden, nearby natural spaces, or plants that hold personal meaning for you. Each specimen is thoughtfully arranged and exposed by hand. Through the magic of sunlight and the cyanotype process, the composition gradually takes shape, capturing the essence of your vision in a one-of-a-kind botanical imprint.
03: Completion & Delivery
When your cyanotype is complete, I invite you to experience the finished piece and share your thoughts. Together, we can make subtle adjustments to ensure it fully reflects your vision. Once finalized, the artwork is carefully prepared and delivered, ready to bring lasting beauty, meaning, and a sense of connection to your home or space.
Echoes of the Forest
Limited-Edition Cyanotype Silk Scarves Collection
Commissioned by the Trillium Miata Club MX‑5, this collection features forty handcrafted silk scarves created using the traditional cyanotype process. Inspired by the forests surrounding my studio in Mulmur, Ontario, each piece captures botanical forms in luminous shades of blue, a unique companion designed for the open road.
